About Bookcraft
Bookcraft is a side project by one person: a database that helps readers understand the content inside a book — intensity and tags for things like sexual content, violence, and language — before they turn the page.
As a parent, I want to know what’s in a book before I buy it or let my children read it, without having to read the whole thing myself first. Other people are in the same boat — for a child, or for themselves — before spending hard-earned money on something that might not be a fit.
That’s the point of the site, and of features like recommendations: encourage people to read more, with clearer eyes about what they’re getting into.
Keeping it free
My goal is to keep Bookcraft free forever. Running and maintaining it still costs money — servers, hosting, upgrades, and day-to-day upkeep. When you purchase through the site’s Buy button, Bookcraft may earn a commission. Those proceeds go toward keeping the site online and improving it.
If you’d rather support the project directly, a Patreon page is planned for donations.
